Spaghetti Bolognese
Spaghetti Bolognese is one of the most popular pasta dishes eaten outside of Italy. Rich in flavour and with its classic tomato-based meat sauce it’s a real crowd pleaser.

Ingredients
- 400 gm spaghetti
- 600 gm beef mince
- Bacon
- Olive oil
- 1 brown onion (diced)
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 carrot (diced)
- 2 celery sticks, finely chopped
- 2 tomato (diced)
- 5 tbs tomato sauce
- 200 gm tomato paste
- Salt
- Black pepper
- 5 bay leaves
- 5 basil leaves, finely chopped
- 2 tsp Italian herb blend
- 150 gm Happy Valley Grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Cook spaghetti in boiling water with 2 tsp of salt for 12 minutes or until tender, drain, add olive oil. Stir frequently while cooking to avoid sticking.
- Cook bacon until golden, put aside.
- Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook onion, carrot, celery and garlic, stir until softened.
- Add beef mince, cook until browned.
- Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, black pepper, bay leaves, basil leaves, cooked bacon, Italian herb blend, Happy Valley Grated Parmesan Cheese.
- Add spaghetti, mix evenly, serve topped with Happy Valley Grated Parmesan Cheese and fresh basil leaves.
