Demand for Australian dairy is on the rise… and it isn’t any wonder

The data is in and it says that consumers around the world have continued their love affair with Australian dairy in the 12 months to February 2019.

Dairy Australia reports in ‘Dairy Situation and Outlook 2019’ that exports to markets including Greater China and South East Asia from the six largest global dairy suppliers – of which Australia is one – have increased by 3.2 per cent.

So why is it that these consumers continue to demand Australian dairy products, such as those produced by Australian food manufacturer Happy Valley?

3 Reasons Australian Dairy is Proving a Hit with Consumers

REASON 1: Australian farms produce quality Australian food products. Dairy cows are carefully nurtured, well fed and cared for. They are free to roam in large paddocks under blue skies and bright sunshine. This natural approach to dairy farming helps make Australian dairy naturally good.

REASON 2: Consumers around the world want products that are naturally good for them and parents want what’s best for their children. Australian dairy foods are rich in many important nutrients, including minerals such as calcium, iodine and zinc, protein, vitamins A, D, B12 and B2 and calcium. Dairy foods can also help reduce blood pressure, and the risk of heart disease, stroke and some cancers.

REASON 3: Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has very high standards for food manufacturers in Australia. Dairy farms are required to have a documented on-farm food safety program and all dairy manufacturers and processors must also have a documented food safety program. Issues in the spotlight include food safety, animal welfare, chemical contamination and environmental responsibilities, and regular auditing ensures the very high standards are met.

As a high-quality food manufacturer in Australia, Happy Valley dairy products are 100% Australian, and handmade from full-cream Gippsland milk. With no preservatives or other additives, you can taste the Australian quality and freshness. We are proud to export our Australian products globally.
